Hello, introduce yourself please.Hello, my name is Isabela Castillo Pérez. I am 14 years old and was born on January 28, 2011. I am from Mexico and live in Mexico City.
What languages do you speak?The languages I speak are Latin American Spanish and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?I started playing tennis at age 7.
Are there other tennis players in your family?My brother is also a tennis player.
In which club do you train?I train at the Japanese club, at the Be Tennis Academy located within the club.
Who are your coaches?My coach is Bruno Echegaray (a former Mexican tennis player).
What is your weekly training routine?I train from Monday to Saturday for three hours, plus an hour and a half of physical conditioning.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?As an athlete, my greatest strength is my discipline and concentration in every match.
What is your age category and your national ranking?My national ranking is 150.
What have been your greatest successes so far?My greatest achievements have been making it past the first round of a national tournament and reaching the semifinals in some tournaments in my country.
In which countries have you played tournaments?Besides Mexico, I’ve played tournaments in the United States.
Do you have any sponsors?I don’t have any sponsors yet, but I’d love to have one.
What is your goal for 2026?My goal for 2026 is to continue improving both technically and mentally, win some tournaments, and qualify for the main draw of a national tournament.
What is your tennis dream?My tennis dream is to become a professional player and have a good WTA ranking.
Who are your favorite tennis players?My favorite tennis players are Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz.
What do you enjoy outside of tennis?Besides tennis, I like to bake and do things with ceramics.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents because without them I wouldn’t be where I am now, and to my coaches for helping me improve and believing in me.
