Hello, introduce yourself please.

Hi! I’m Emilia Staruseva. I’m 13 years old, I was born on July 3, 2012.
I live in Astana, Kazakhstan.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Russian

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing tennis at the age of 3.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

Yes.

In which club do you train?

I train at the Kaz Team club.

Who are your coaches?

Мy coach Vitaly Olegovich and Dmitry Alexandrovich.

What is your weekly training routine?

The first workout is from 8-9:00 AM to 10-11:00 AM.
The second workout is from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
And there’s also an hour of general physical training after the workout.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?

My strength is that I fight for every ball and have a good forehand.
What I need to improve is my confidence, especially in important moments. I’m trying to work on that.

What is your junior category and your national ranking?

I play 14 and under. I’m ranked 30th.

What has been your greatest achievement?

I won those who I hadn’t won for a long time.

In which countries have you already played tournament?

Serbia, Greece, Montenegro, Turkey, Cambodia.

Do you have any sponsors?

I don’t have any sponsors.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal is to become more confident on the court, improve my technique and gain experience in tournaments.

What is your tennis dream?

I dream of being the world’s number one tennis player.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?

I like to draw.
