🎙️Daniel Snyman | Interview, December 2025

Hello, introduce yourself please.

My name is Daniel Snyman. I was born on August 18, 2016, in Athens, Greece.
I am Greek by nationality, but I currently live in Seattle, Washington, USA.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Russian and English.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing tennis when I was five and a half years old.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

Yes, my father has played tennis since he was a child, and he still plays today.

In which club do you train?

Gorin Academy, Redmond, Washington, USA.

Who are your coaches?

My coaches are Nikita Matveiko, Sabaleuski Mikita, and Gabriel Belli de Oliveira. I also work with my fitness coach, Andre Luis.

What is your weekly training routine?

I train 5–6 days a week for about 3 to 3.5 hours a day. My weekly routine includes:
– A one-hour private tennis lesson 3–4 times a week;
– A 45-minute fitness session three times a week with my fitness coach;
– Two hours of Full-Time Academy training every day, which I started in October of this year.
On Saturdays or Sundays, depending on the schedule, I play local tournaments whenever they are available.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?

My greatest strengths are my discipline, focus, and my ability to listen carefully to my coaches.
I always try my best in every training session and follow every instruction with attention. I am currently working on improving my technical foundation with my Full-Time Academy coaches, who are helping me build world-class technique.

What is your junior category and your national ranking?

I compete in the U10 category, and I also play up in U12 tournaments.
I currently hold my USTA player number, and I am actively playing more tournaments to build my national profile.

What has been your greatest achievement?

My biggest achievement so far is being accepted into the Full-Time Program at Gorin Academy in Redmond. Training there with excellent coaches and practicing alongside strong players is a very important step for me, and I am proud to be in the right environment.

In which countries have you already played tournament?

I have played tournaments only in the United States.

Do you have any sponsors?

I don’t have any sponsors yet, but I am open to future sponsorship opportunities.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal for 2026 is to continue improving my technique and overall level, and to perform well in tournaments.
I want to compete not only in my state and across the USA, but also in European tournaments during the summer.
I also hope to begin participating in the Greek Tennis Federation system and start building my ranking there.

What is your tennis dream?

My dream is to become the first Greek tennis player in history to reach world number 1.
I also love drawing, and one day I would like to collaborate with a major sports brand to create tennis clothing featuring my own artwork.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favorite tennis players are Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Rafael Nadal.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?

Outside of tennis, I love painting with acrylics. I enjoy creating gifts and surprises for my family, friends, and teachers—painting pictures, decorating clothing, and making personalized art projects.
I also study at the Yuri Method STEM School, where we explore science through hands-on experiments and creative activities.
In the winter season, I enjoy skiing, and every week.
I go to hip-hop dance classes because I love dancing.
I like playing chess and Roblox with my friends, and I also enjoy mental arithmetic (abacus).
In my free time, I love making handmade crafts and creative projects.

To which people would you like to dedicate this interview?

I would like to dedicate this interview to my mom and dad, who support me in everything I do, and to my whole family for always believing in me.
I also want to dedicate it to all my coaches at Gorin Tennis Academy, who put their professionalism, hard work, and heart into helping me grow as a player.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

Thanks a lot Daniel!
