Hello, introduce yourself please.

My name is Cheng-En Tsai. I am 12 years old and in the sixth grade. I’m from Taiwan and live in Taipei. I train mainly at the Neihu Tennis Center.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Mandarin and I am learning English.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing tennis when I was around 5 or 6 years old.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

There are no other professional tennis players in my family, but my family fully supports my tennis journey.

In which club do you train?

I train at the Neihu Tennis Center.

Who are your coaches?

I am currently coached by a team of coaches.

What is your weekly training routine?

I train regularly every week, including technical drills, fitness training, match play practice, and footwork and speed training.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?

My biggest strengths are my consistency, strong focus in matches, and competitive spirit.
I want to improve my power and gain more experience in international competitions.

What is your junior category and your national ranking?

I compete in the U14 category in Taiwan, and I am currently ranked number 2 nationally.

What has been your greatest achievement?

I represented Chinese Taipei in the East Asia U12 Team Championships for two consecutive years — winning 2nd place in 2024 and 1st place in 2025.
I also often win first place in domestic tournaments.

In which countries have you already played tournament?

I have competed in both domestic and international tournaments. My domestic results are excellent, and I have also achieved good results in international events.

Do you have any sponsors?

I am currently sponsored by Flowness for clothing and by Head for rackets. I hope to receive support from more sponsors in the future to help me achieve my dreams.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal for 2026 is to play in more international tournaments, improve my world ranking, and challenge stronger players.

What is your tennis dream?

My tennis dream is to become a world-class player, compete in Grand Slams, and represent Taiwan around the world.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favorite tennis player is Novak Djokovic. I admire his mentality, consistency, and fighting spirit on the court.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?

Outside of tennis, I enjoy exercising, watching matches, playing games, and spending time with friends.

I would like to dedicate this interview to my family and coaches for always supporting and helping.
