Hello, introduce yourself please.

My name is Andrea Guillén, I’m 14 years old, my birthday is January 3, 2011.
I’m Venezuelan and I live in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela.

What languages do you speak?

I mainly speak Spanish and I also speak English.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing when I was 5 years old, but I started competitively around age 8, playing in small tournaments to get started.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

In my family almost everyone is a tennis player because my dad, my two brothers and I all play tennis.

In which club do you train?

I train at the El Gato Academia de Tenis.

Who are your coaches?

My teachers are Juan Colmenares, also known as El Gato, and Eduardo Palencia, among others, but I take lessons with those two most often.

What is your weekly training routine?

My training day usually starts at 2 pm. I train for about 1.5 or 3 hours depending on the day of the week, plus about an hour of physical conditioning. I finish around 6:30 pm.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?

I can’t really say what my greatest quality as an athlete is, but I consider myself very disciplined and I need to improve my serve.

What is your junior category and your national ranking?

I play in the 14-year-old category, but next year I’ll move up to the 16-year-old category. Right now, my national ranking in the 14-year-old category is 29 and in the 16-year-old category it’s 53.

What has been your greatest achievement?

I consider my greatest success to have been the 2nd regional 14/18 tournament in Barquisimeto, where I became champion in doubles and I also did very well in singles.

In which countries have you already played tournament?

To be honest, I’ve never played outside the country, only here in Venezuela.

Do you have any sponsors?

I have no sponsors.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal for 2026 is to improve every day as an athlete, lower my ranking, and win more trophies in important tournaments.

What is your tennis dream?

My dream is to get a university scholarship in the USA to a university where I can earn a professional degree and still continue playing tennis.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favorite tennis players are Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, but I also really like Nick Kyrgios.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?

Besides tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, even in the simplest ways.

To which people would you like to dedicate this interview?

I don’t really know how to answer the last question, but I’m grateful to my parents, my coaches, and of course to God for always supporting me.
