Hello, introduce yourself please.

Hi! My name is Amilia Groos and I‘m 12 years old. My birthday is on April 26, 2013.
I’m German and I live in Siegburg.

What languages do you speak?

I speak German, English and I’m learning French.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing when I was 7.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

Yes, my sister Julie. She’s an ITF player and you made an interview with her already.

In which club do you train?

I train in the ROTA Tennis Academy in Overath and play matches for STV Am Grafenkreuz at the moment.

Who are your coaches?

My coaches are Robert Orlik and Gery Riedl.

What is your weekly training routine?

I train 5 times a week for 2.5 hours.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?

My best shot is my aggressive forehand, however I’m working on my footwork right now, to be faster on the court.

What is your junior category and your national ranking?

I am ranked 60th in the German U12 national ranking.

What has been your greatest achievement?

At the German U12 Championship I finished second in the second round.

In which countries have you already played tournament?

I played tournaments in Germany and Greece.

Do you have any sponsors?

I am sponsored by Yonex.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal for the next year is to play in the German Championship again.

What is your tennis dream?

My tennis dream is to win a Grand Slam.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favourite tennis players are Sinner and Sabalenka.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?

I like to dance ballet.
