Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Alyanna Jane Principe. I am 11 years old and I was born on January 25, 2015. I am a Canadian citizen and I live in Langley, British Columbia, Canada.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and I can understand Tagalog.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 5 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
I am the only one in my family who plays tennis, but my family is very sports-oriented. My dad used to play NCAA basketball in the Philippines, and my older sister is a high-performance gymnast in British Columbia.
In which club do you train?
I train at The Tennis Centre in Surrey, British Columbia.
Who are your coaches?
My personal coach is Tom Mclean.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train six days a week with a combination of tennis and fitness sessions.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
I think my greatest strengths are the power on my forehand and my mental strength. I am working a lot on my serve and my overall fitness.
What is your age category and your national ranking?
I compete in the U12 and U14 categories, and I am currently ranked No.49 nationally in the U12 category.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
Some of my greatest successes so far have been winning all of my U12 tournaments in my first year in the category and finishing in the top 6 in both the Selections Series and the Provincial Championship.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have played tournaments across Canada.
Do you have any sponsors?
Not at the moment, but I would love to get sponsored in the future.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to become No.1 in British Columbia and to be in the top 5 nationally.
What is your tennis dream?
To win all Grand Slams and be the number 1 player in the world.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Aryna Sabalenka because she is a very powerful and resilient player, and I really look up to her.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I love spending time with my family and friends whenever I have free time.

I would love to dedicate this interview to my family for everything they do for me and for their unwavering support, and also to my coach Tom for always believing in me and pushing me to grow both as an athlete and as a person.
