Emma Fattori | Interview, Jul 2025

My name is Emma Fattori and I was born in Brussels on February 4, 2014. I have dual Belgian and Italian nationality and I live in UCCLE which is a neighbourhood in Brussels. I speak French and Italian, I can get by in Flemish and I’m working on my English.

I started playing tennis at 5 and a half years old. No one in my family has ever played tennis

My Club is the ROYAL LEOPOLD CLUB of UCCLE. My coach is José Viesca who is also the director of the Club’s tennis academy. I train 5 times a week with sessions lasting an hour or an hour and a half, while I dedicate 2 hours a week to physical training.

For a few months I have had an American sponsor who strongly supports me and with whom I have a 2-year contract. Furthermore, since 2024 I have been receiving support for scholar and sporting merit from the Belgian HOPE & SPIRIT Foundation. I play with a Wilson Blade L

In addition to more than fifty local tournaments won, I brought the TWB ( Tennis Wallonie Brussels Junior ) championship back for 3 consecutive years 2023 2024 and 2025 in the respective categories of 9 – 10 and 11 years old. The Belgian Regional Federation (BRUSSELS – BRABANT) to which I belong awarded me the CRITERIUM prize as the best player aged 9 and 10 and this year I am also well placed for the one aged 11.
Representing the Regional Tennis Federation of BRUSSELS/BRABANT WALLON I won together with the team LOUPS DU BRABANT the BNP Paribas Fortis Young Talents Cup for three consecutive years (2022 – 2023 and 2024).

My national ranking is 11.1 which is the highest ranking for U11 (my category) but for almost a year I have been playing in the U13 age category. I am currently ranked No. 1 player in my category (11 years) in the BRUSSELS / BRABANT WALLON Region.

I’ve ever played in Belgium and Italy.

My dream is to win both Roland Garros and Australian Open.

Looking back, my all-time favourite player is Justine Henin, whom I also know personally. Currently my favourites players are Novak Djokovic and lga Swiatek.
