Hello, introduce yourself please.My name is Dhanvi Kale, I am 18 years old, I was born on October 10, 2007.
I am Indian and I live in Vadodara, Gujarat, India.What languages do you speak?English, Hindi , Gujarati , Marathi.
At what age did you start playing tennis?8 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?My family played other sports though in the first one to play tennis Professionally.
In which club do you train?Bounce Tennis Academy
Who are your coaches?Kedar Shah is my tennis coach and Vaibhav Paigude is my fitness coach.
What is your weekly training routine?I play 4 to 5 hours a day, six days a week. Sunday is my rest/recovery day.
My training starts at 8 a.m. and finishes at 12:30 p.m., followed by a lunch break and fitness exercises (strength training and conditioning, endurance/footwork). I finish with a cool-down and stretching.As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?As a tennis player my greatest quality in my game i would say is my serve and forehand , & the grit & determination to push everyday & trying to stay postive till the match is over , i need to improve my mental strength & Match experience.
What is your junior category and your national ranking?I was ranked 30th nationally in the under-14 category and 35th in the under-18 category.
What has been your greatest achievement?
- National Semifinalist Juniors
- SGFi Medalist U17
- Semifinalist at the Women’s National Ranking Tournament
In which countries have you already played tournament?India , Kuwait , Nepal.
Do you have any sponsors?No.
What is your goal for 2026?I have just suffered a grade 2 tear of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in my knee. I am therefore training and preparing to start playing ITF women’s tournaments from 2026, win women’s national tournaments in India, score my first WTA points next year, and fully enjoy tennis.
What is your tennis dream?My main dream is to represent my country and play in the top 100 of the WTA circuit, to play good tennis and of course to win Roland-Garros.
Who are your favorite tennis players?Maria Sharapova and Novak Djokovic.
What do you like to do outside of tennis?Dancing, taking photos, hiking, playing other sports.
To which people would you like to dedicate this interview?I’d like to dedicate this to my Parents and my mentors who have helped me get to this point. Their guidance has been invaluable, and I hope to one day be a mentor to others in the same way.
