Hello, introduce yourself please.

Hi! My name is Michaela Brandtová. I am 13 years old. I am from the Czech Republic. I live in Pilsen.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Czech, English and a little German and Spanish.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing tennis when I was 4 years old.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

There is no tennis player in my family. Only my dad used to play.

In which club do you train?

My club is TK Lokomotiva Plzeň.

Who are your coaches?

I had many coaches, but now my main one is Roman Vavřík.

What is your weekly training routine?

I train on Tuesdays at 2:00, Wednesdays at 1 hour, Thursdays at 2:00, Fridays at 1:30 and I am at a tournament every weekend.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?

My best quality in tennis is probably my backhand. I have a very good one and then my serve.
What I need to improve is probably my stamina and breathing, because I get out of breath quickly.

What is your junior category and your national ranking?

I play in U14 and I am currently 26th in the country.

What has been your greatest achievement?

My biggest success is probably winning the regional championship in Pilsen.

In which countries have you already played tournament?

So far I have only played in the Czech Republic but I am also planning to go to Germany.

Do you have any sponsors?

I don’t have any sponsors yet.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal is to win as many tournaments as possible and move up the rankings.

What is your tennis dream?

My biggest dream is to play on the WTA circuit and be in the final of a Grand Slam.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favorite tennis players are Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?

Outside of tennis, I like to go out with my friends or I like to exercise or watch movies.

I would like to dedicate this interview to my coach and family for getting me to where I am now, and also to my friends for keeping me in a good mood and supporting me.
